Biography
"Throw your words at me, I’ll have my way with them," mocks young and sharp-tongued singer, guitarist and songwriter, Alexx Calise. Delivering a sound that is both fresh and uniquely her own, Calise combines hard rock, grunge and pop with crunchy guitars, introspective lyrics, and an instantly identifiable vocal that is hauntingly beautiful and completely raw all at once.

Calise grew up in Fort
Lauderdale, Florida, where she spent her childhood mostly alone or in the pages of a notebook, finding comfort only in her parents’ vast record collection, which included everything from Mozart to Led Zeppelin. At 11, she picked up the guitar to emulate her father, also a talented musician, and began fusing the melodies she heard in her head with her own poetry and recitations.

Now living in Los Angeles, California and continuing along the same path, Calise’s music has appeared on a multitude of different shows such as “Dance Moms” (Lifetime), Audrina” (Vh1), "Tough Love" (Vh1), “Next” (MTV), "10 on Top" (MTV), “One Tree Hill” (CW), The Nate Berkus Show, "Texas Women" (CMT) and in the upcoming feature film, “LA, I Hate You” starring Malcolm McDowell and William Forsythe.

She has also been featured in Blender, Guitar Player, and Guitar World magazines, and the how-to/method book, "How to Succeed as a Female Musician" (alongside such notable musicians as Lisa Loeb and The Donnas), and she is endorsed by over 13 music gear/clothing manufacturers. Calise has also appeared in several special programs such as Disney’s Science of Imagineering educational DVD series and the Discovery Channel’s “Science of Sex Appeal”, and she has lent her voice to numerous promos and commercials, including a recent Coachella promo video directed by Sam O’Hare.

Calise is currently working on her 3rd solo record with producer/engineer, Wes Michener (Puddle of Mudd, Marilyn Manson, Pixie Lott), which promises to be in the more "roots rock" vein. She also just released her debut album with other music project, Sound of Cancer (with accomplished drummer/songwriter, Dennis Morehouse).
