Born and Raised in Miami, FL, Vanessa started playing guitar at a young age. Progressing through high school, Faneza practiced many our daily due to continual "grounding" by her parents. Unable to hang out with friends, talk on the phone, or watch TV, guitar was her only outlet. She was awarded a hefty scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. After 4 years, she earned a Bachelors with a Major in Music Business. After working in the music industry with such artists as Pat Metheny, Christian McBride she decided to pursue her own career and move to Atlanta, GA. Performing in an all-girl band named, GirlParts, she performed on the Vans warped Tour alongside bands like Paramore. GirlParts was also the house band for a pilot comedy show on TBS (Turner Broadcasting ) Several years later she was choosen by Beyonce to audition for her all-girl backup band. Vanessa continues to perform around Atlanta, with a Rock & Soul Quartet called Stereotype. Stereotype has performed at Turnerfield before an Atlanta Braves MLB game, and opened up for Darius Rucker at the James Brown arena in Augusta, GA last fall. She also performs with Los Angeles singer/songwriter Bari. - and toured Japan in 2010 with the Athens based pop/rock band the Shutups.
