The Women’s International Music Network Announces 2014 She Rocks Award Honorees
Dinah Gretsch, Maricela Juarez, Beth Marlis and Robin Walenta join Janie L. Hendrix and Sheila E as 2014 She Rocks Awards recipients; to be honored at ceremony taking place during 2014 NAMM Show.

LAFAYETTE, Calif., (Nov. 7th, 2013) – The Women’s International Music Network (The WiMN) is pleased to announce additional honorees of the 2014 She Rocks AwardsDinah Gretsch,Maricela JuarezBeth Marlis and Robin Walenta will be honored at the ceremony on Fri., Jan. 24, 2014 from 8:30AM to 10:00AM at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel in Anaheim, Calif., during the 2014 NAMM show.

These women will be recognized along with previously announced honorees Sheila E, the legendary percussion icon, and Janie L. Hendrix, current President/CEO of Experience Hendrix LLC and its affiliated organizations, and sister of the legendary Jimi Hendrix.

“I’m very proud to recognize the legacy of these women,” comments WiMN-founder and She Rocks Awards host, Laura B. Whitmore. “By inspiring and encouraging fellow women in the industry, each one of these recipients embodies the spirit of the She Rocks Awards.”

As leaders in the music industry, each honoree will be recognized for their own unique talents, accomplishments and philanthropic works: 

Dinah Gretsch is Executive Vice President and CFO of renowned musical instrument manufacturer, The Gretsch Company, and has remained prominent figure in the industry for more than thirty years. Maricela “MJ” Juarez is a longtime pickup winder at Seymour Duncan, where she has lent her talent to creating pickups for Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Peter Frampton and others throughout her thirty-year career. 

Music education leader and guitarist Beth Marlis serves as Director of Musicians Institute’s Guitar Program (GIT), and is currently a senior guitar faculty member and Vice President at the college.Robin Walenta is the President and CEO of the highly successful West Music Company, and is the first women to serve on NAMM’s Executive Committee in the association’s 113 year history.

The 2014 She Rocks Awards marks the second event of its kind. The first took place in January 2013 and honored guitarist Orianthi, songwriter/producer Holly Knight, Mary Peavey of Peavey Electronics, Laura Taylor of Guitar Center, Pauline France of Fender Musical Instruments, Carla Black of Musicians for Equal Opportunities for Women (MEOW) and Tish Ciravolo of Daisy Rock Guitars. The second annual She Rocks Awards will include a catered breakfast, awards ceremony, live performances and more. A portion of the proceeds from the She Rocks Awards will be donated to the Girls Rock Camp Alliance, aiding the organization in empowering girls and women in Girls Rock Camp programs throughout the world.
