Christie Lenée: talks about recent NAMM, new album and tour dates

Hello Friends!

I am writing you from beautiful Austin, TX: The Live Music Capitol of the World! It's been an adventurous journey the past few weeks including LA for the NAMM show and surrounding special events in North Hollywood, Altadena, Santa Monica, the "Guitar Blast" concert at Tower Theatre in Bend, OR, and now to this cross country trip leading me to FL!

As you may know, I've been living in Portland for most of the past year and loved every moment of being home. There is such a special energy there and I know that no matter where I am, Portland always has a home in my heart. :) As well as Philadelphia... the city of brotherly love!

Through the process of an abundance of tours over the past few years and moving out west, I recently released an Instrumental Album "Chasing Infinity." I love the record and am very proud of the outcome. Though, funny enough, before I started recording it there was already another in the works! These tracks feature Tim Reynolds and his band TR3 as a rhythm section on two songs, plus another song featuring Stanley Jordan.

In addition to this album already in the works and the single "Garden of Love" (soon to finally get released), I also did two shows at a state of the art recording studio/venue in St Petersburg, FL called the "Hideaway Cafe." Here we performed with a multi-track recording of full band and John Kelly did an incredible job capturing the experiences! Two songs ("Daylight Comes" and "Take a Vacation") out of the shows have been mixed so far, and came out so great that I've decided to put out a full live CD with the best of these performances.

If that wasn't exciting enough... there's still more! Come May I will be going into the studio with legendary producer/musician Will Ackerman to record two fully produced instrumental tracks. My hope is to build excitement with the magic that we make in the studio, and through crowd funding and perhaps record label support we will return into the studio and do a full album. :) This is surely the intention, so we're going to get the ball rolling with two songs and go from there!

"Will Ackerman is the Founder of Windham Hill Records, and a Grammy Award Winner. As a Producer he is the Recipient of more than 20 Platinum and Gold Records in the United States and Internationally. Albums that he has produced have won multiple ZMR Music Awards and no producer has ever had more #1 albums on the NAR/ZONE charts."

To say the least, I have an abundance of material to get out to the world and plan to hit it hard in the studio this year. To help make this happen I will soon be posting an online fundraising campaign to reach out for crowd support on these projects. If you decide to participate, your contributions will be exchanged with a variety of exciting rewards including recording opportunities for other aspiring artists, cross promotion for your business, album pre-orders, and more!

Meanwhile I'm in route to FL with 12 string instruments, keyboard, amp(s), recording equipment, and well... essentially everything I "need" to survive and put out some new music. I have decided to move back to my native home of St Pete/Tampa FL while these projects are in the works, where I will be ambitiously recording/mixing, performing, and practicing for the sessions with Will Ackerman in May!

A pre-welcome home party will be happening this Tuesday at The Amsterdam in St Pete with a solo acoustic show 8-11pm and friends gathering to welcome these exciting projects into the new year. I will then be leaving to perform on a ship to Hawaii for a full month, which will enable me with more financial elements for the recording projects... and well, a trip to Hawaii will be a nice bonus too!

Upon my return March 16th I will be officially living in FL again and getting going with these recording projects. FL friends, I hope to see you this Tuesday night in St Pete to celebrate!
