Kanami, Miku: Band-Maid - new EP and appearance at SAKURACON and MCM LONDON COMIC CON

BAND-MAID now announced on the stage of Shibuya eggman on February 27th, that they will be releasing a new mini-album "Brand New MAID" on May 18th through NIPPON CROWN. The mini-album will contain a total of 8 songs, including their new track "alone".

BAND-MAID also announced that they will be taking "(R)" from their name, and change the official band name to "BAND-MAID".

The band has been gaining fans in full speed in both Japan and overseas. They will be holding their first overseas live in SAKURACON in March, and after that they will play at MCM LONDON COMIC CON in May.

Band-Maid, one of Japan’s hottest up-and-coming all-girl rock acts, are to make their European debut at MCM London Comic Con. As well as performing live at this May’s Excel show, Band-Maid will be meeting fans and taking part in Q&A sessions.

The Tokyo five-piece – Miku (guitar/vocals), Saiki (vocals), Kanami (guitar), Akane (drums) and bassist Misa – have been turning heads across the globe with their killer combo of cute, authentic maid aesthetic and powerful, skilled musicianship.

Formed in 2013, the band’s concept is based on founder Miku’s experiences in the maid cafes of Akihabara – the Tokyo district famed for its thriving otaku (‘geek’) culture and passion for rock music. Band-Maid’s music videos ‘Thrill’ and ‘Real Existence’ both went viral soon after release, receiving more than three million views on YouTube and gaining recognition from western media such as Guitar World, Team Rock and many more.
