Dream Theater is a progressive metal band from the U.S which was formed in 1985 under the name Majesty by John Petrucci, John Myung, and Mike Portnoy. After attending a little time in Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts, they decided to concentrate on the band that would become Dream Theater. Through the years there were some line up changes, in the present the band is built by James LaBrie, Jordan Rudess, John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Mangini, who replaced former drummer Mike Portnoy. So, this solo is the first one of the song and it´s a really melodic and smooth guitar solo.
