Yoshi, Toki: Aldious - phenomenal new vocalist R!N, new album and UK and Europe tour

Aldious, the "groundbreaking" (NYLON) metal band from Japan, are about to smash boundaries overseas as they recruit phenomenal new vocalist R!N, set an international release date for their first album in three years, and announce dates for their first ever tour in the UK and Europe.

Popular video game website Kotaku comments that Aldious is "as metal as you can get in heels and pink bows", and upcoming record Evoke 2010-2020 is set to prove this further than ever before. The album sees new vocalist R!N leave her mark on a decade's worth of material.

A total of 14 tracks that represent the essence of Aldious have been carefully selected and re-recorded for the album, and will be joined by brand-new song "I wish for you". Further to that, the international edition of the album from JPU Records will include one song not found on the Japanese edition; a never-before-released English version of their recent fist-pumping anthem "We Are". It will also include the lyrics translated into English and Romaji for the CD's booklet and will be available from local stockists from 10 April 2020.

R!N joined Aldious as an official member in 2019 after touring with the band. She had already received success and international acclaim with her solo material released under the name Genie, where she had recorded songs from popular anime series such as Attack on Titan and Mobile Suit Gundam.

On joining Aldious and recording Evoke 2010-2020, R!N comments, "When I first encountered Aldious' music I was surprised by its high impact and powerful nature. I was fascinated how they could switch between such intensity and being beautifully melodious in the blink of an eye. After joining the band on tour, I'm so happy to be welcomed as an official member and am looking forward to deepen our bond together and explore new possibilities!"

"It's been my dream to perform in Europe since the beginning!" exclaims guitarist Toki, who recently returned to the band after giving birth to her first child. "It will be my first time in those countries, so I’m looking forward to see how metal fans respond to our music. I'll do my best! I’m also looking forward to drink beer and eat sausages in Germany!"

Aldious' founder and guitarist Yoshi adds, "I love German metal, so I'm extra excited about performing in Berlin. Of course, I'm looking forward to all shows, as well as eating fish and chips in London and speaking French in Paris! I was interested in French as a kid and can still speak a little bit. Now I have a good excuse to brush up on it!"

Aldious blasted on to Japan's metal scene in 2010 with their debut album Deep Exceed. The release saw them rocket to the top of the country's weekly Oricon indie chart, and even peak at number seven in the main chart. A decade later and Aldious are recognised as one of the original pioneers of the next generation of all-female metal bands. They've performed at various types of festival across Japan, including SUMMER SONIC, LOUD PARK and VISUAL JAPAN SUMMIT. Some of the tracks re-recorded for EVOKE 2010-2020 have their original music videos available on YouTube where they have been enjoyed over 5.5 million times. 2020 is already proving to be an exciting year for the band with their first performance in the United States of America at N.A.M.M., their first European tour on the horizon and hotly anticipated self-cover album on the way. Aldious is ultimate, Aldious is melodious.
