Christie Lenée: talks about new instrumental album

Christie Lenée: Greetings friends and fellow music lovers,

There are moments in life when something so inspiring occurs that it can change your life forever. Tonight in the middle of a tour, recharging at Mom's house in the sunshine state... I was reminded of something really special. Hearing the song "Sunburst" by Andrew York for the first time in my freshman year of high school completely shifted my path: from being an actress, to instantly dedicating my life to music. I remember hearing that performance... heart pulsating... pouring tears of transformation. Really, I didn't know that such sounds could come out of one instrument.

I came across a performance of Andrew York playing "Candlelight" on YouTube tonight and was reminded of that feeling all over again. Breathtaking... Invigorating... Mesmerizing. This coincides with the abundance of creative energy that has been enlivened while being home with Mom in the middle of a tour. I have a lot of new songs to share, in addition to some great news:

The instrumental album is going to press tomorrow! This record is a huge accomplishment for me after years of honing in on guitar practice and composition. The album "Chasing Infinity" should be in hands by the end of next week and I can't wait to hold it... so much hard work, love, and focus put into these compositions, not to mention practicing enough to be capable of recording them. The album was remixed three times, then just when I thought it was done... more tweaks with the mastering and artwork! Most importantly, we reached the goal. :) Hey, it may have taken longer... then a little longer, and longer... but ultimately I will be happy with it for the rest of my life. I hope you enjoy it as well. :)

This particular trip to Florida includes less shows for the purpose of spending time with family. Likewise, the radio show Thursday and outdoor concert Friday night in Downtown St Pete will have a lot of energy put into it. Friday night we'll be playing from 9pm to midnight @ The Ale and the Witch in Downtown St Pete near the water. It's a beautiful musical atmosphere! This show will feature Chris LeFevre on bass and Dave Rudolph (from the "Set it Free" album) on drums. Of course some solo acoustic moments as well. :)

Next week, Chris (bassist) and I are traveling north again through Bluffton, SC on August 28th, then to Charleston to meet TWO NEWBORN babies of my cousins. Exciting! Following, we'll be returning to our favorite gem in the middle of the country: Floyd, VA on August 30th at Dogtown Roadhouse, followed by a very special house concert in Richmond on the 31st.

In Washington, DC on September 8th we'll be doing 3 PERFORMANCES at the Adam's Morgan Day Festival:
12:30pm on the Main Stage, 2:55pm at the Top of Belmont Stage, then 7pm at The Black Squirrel. It's going to be a festive day of music!

To close out this fun summer run of shows, we'll be playing:

Friday the 13th @
World Cafe Live in Philadelphia
Upstairs Venue, Doors 7pm Show 7:30pm
*Doing an hour set, followed by the awesome Christine Havrilla and her band Gypsy Fuzz.
It's going to be a blast!

Following, I'll be heading back to Portland spending time on the official record release, in addition to a special acoustic show for the "Yoga OMazing Concert Series" in Hillsboro, OR on September 28th. There is more on the horizon but that's all for announcements right now. :)
