Millisa Henderson: The Enemy Inside - Dream Theater

About
I am 16, have played guitar a little over 4 years, and have a great love for it. I am honored to play for benefits, fundraisers, festivals, and expos.

Biography
I started playing in June 2009 at a week-long summer rock camp and have continued with formal guitar lessons since August 2009. I have since performed many shows, both solo or with bands or groups. I strive for my performances to be a positive influence and enjoyable experience for my audience, and I desire to share my love of music with others. I perform music by such artists as Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani, Judas Priest, Living Colour, Ozzy Osbourne, Queensryche, Randy Rhoads, Scorpions, and Van Halen. I am currently writing original music, also.

Description
I am the guitarist for the Muskogee High School Jazz Band and Marching Band and lead guitarist/vocalist for youth rock band, Insane Audio. I participate in the Muskogee Saturday Night Spotlight and Rising Stars music program and have performed at benefits and festivals such as Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame fundraisers, Red Cross Hero fundraisers, Muskogee Bare Bones Film Festival, Muskogee Azalea Festival Chili Cook-Off, Muskogee Heritage Days, Claremore Freedom Fest, Cookson Jubilee, Creek County Fair, 9/11 Freedom Walk, Oklahoma State Fair, Porter Peach Festival, Poteau Balloon Festival, and Robbers' Cave State Park Performing Arts Festival.

With the Rising Stars program, I performed at a Tina Turner Tribute fundraiser at Brownsville, Tennessee, in September 2012, at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch at Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, in July 2013, and at Tina Turner Heritage Days at Brownsville, Tennessee, in September 2013. I was awarded “Outstanding Soloist” at the 2013 Northeastern State University Jazz Festival at Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I received a scholarship for and attended the week-long summer Guitar Sessions program at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, in August 2013. While there, I was asked to audition for and was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to Berklee’s Five-Week Summer Performance Program for Summer 2014.

Live Nation, the live events/entertainment company in Beverly Hills, California, featured a video of me covering “Eruption” on their Facebook page on January 20, 2013, from over 80 videos submitted on their January 13 post requesting new artist videos. Live Nation’s comment was, “Watch this video and you'll see why this young woman is going to be a guitar goddess.” The Sapulpa Daily Herald published a piece called "Guitar Phenom" with my photo on September 25, 2012, about my previous weekend performances at the Creek County Fair. "So impressed were attendees and fairground officials with her level of play, they asked her back to encore. . ." I attended Kamp KMOD in June 2011, co-hosting two programs on Tulsa radio station 97.5 KMOD with DJ Lynn Hernandez: Friday Drive Thru Lunch and “Ratt Poison,” the Saturday night ‘80s hair metal music hour.
