News: Terri Nunn & BERLIN - Announce Spring Tour Dates

(Los Angeles, CA) After releasing their seventh studio album, Animal, last September, BERLIN toured mainly on the west coast, only venturing to the east when they performed at the South Carolina Pride Festival that same month.  Now, the band excitedly announces their plans to hit four east coast cities, beginning on April 30 in Asbury Park, NJ, before heading south to Philadelphia and Hanover, MD.  Finally, BERLIN will head back up to the Big Apple, hitting New York City on May 3rd.  More U.S. dates for 2014 will be announced shortly.

Animal is the result of Nunn’s re-ignited love affair with current electronic music, and the feeling that BERLIN could make a unique statement in the EDM [electronic dance music] milieu.

Praise for the new album has been extremely flattering with the Hollywood Reporter noting, “…’With The Lights On’ taps excitedly into the current EDM culture without sacrificing their skillful way with a hook.”  Meanwhile, Popdosedescribes the album as, “. . .  a full-on dance record, packed with wall-to-wall beats – and yes, a dubstep moment – as well as a scorching cover of Jefferson Airplane’s “Somebody to Love.”  And Nunn continues to inspire fans, with the Huffington Post lauding her performance, Nunn has maintained a distinct core sound while continuing to exude a strong and intriguing appeal.”

Few bands emerging from the musical era of the 80s have achieved as far-reaching and long-lasting an impact and, rarely, such a timeless array of musical grooves as BERLIN.  The Los Angeles-based band made its first national impression with the provocative single "Sex (I'm A...)" from the platinum-selling debut EP Pleasure Victim in 1982. “The Metro” and “No More Words” were also chart toppers, but it was the unforgettable, intimate love song, “Take My Breath Away” that launched the band to even greater heights.  The ballad’s defining role in the Tom Cruise film, Top Gun, helped solidify BERLIN’s place in American pop-culture.  The song was a #1 international hit and received both the Golden Globe and Academy Award for “Best Original Song” in 1986.  Since inception, TERRI NUNN and BERLIN have received a total of twelve gold and platinum album awards and NUNN’s unyielding influence has earned her the #11 spot on VH1.com’s “100 Greatest Women in Rock.” Currently, NUNN also hosts the lively radio show Unbound with Terri Nunn on 88.5 FM KCSN Los Angeles with co-host Wendy Liebman

Joining NUNN on the road will be Carlton Bost on guitars (Orgy, Deadsy) keyboardist, Dave Schulz (Goo Goo Dolls, General Public) and long-time drummer, Chris Olivas.
