Briana Alexis is a professional guitar player and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Her musical journey began when she was privileged to study guitar with legendary late jazz guitarist, Ted Greene. Shortly after, she moved to Los Angeles to attend The Dick Grove School of Music Academy where she also appeared in their national ad campaigns.

After performing in various bands on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip in the late 80‘s, alongside many of the great bands of the day, Briana decided to strike out on her own, and in 2007 she formed the original female rock band, Absinthe. Her style of guitar playing is riff-driven with a hook, which is the key ingredient of the band’s trademark sound. It wasn’t long before the band was winning awards, opening for national acts, appearing on cable shows, and headlining premiers working with such artists as ZZ Top, Cheap Trick, Pat Benatar and Billy Idol. In 2010 Absinthe released their debut EP, La Fée Verte, followed by a video from the first single entitled, “Filthy,” which received rave reviews.

Briana’s projects have spanned a wide variety of musical styles. Her music has been placed on several independent film projects as well as trade shows and commercials. She has also served as musical director and continues to produce, write and compose in her home studio.

She is proudly endorsed by 13 different music equipment manufactures and has graced the pages of Guitar Player Magazine, appeared in countless interviews. Briana was Featured in the July 2012 online issue of Guitar World as “Female Guitarist You Should Know About.” She has even been a judge for several high profile competitions, including Guitar Center’s “King Of Blues” and “Battle of the Blues” national guitar competitions.

Briana is excited to embark upon her upcoming instrumental solo project that merges her jazz and fusion rock roots.
