YouTube has problem with unfairly disabling comments on many channels. It seems to be mainly affecting smaller creators, and no one is really talking about it. This is my entire sequence of dialogue with YouTube support over the past two years about this issue and what I've learned so far. I'm hoping that this will bring awareness to the problem and hopefully actually get it fixed!
So far the problem is on and off for me and I've only noticed it on shorts; it doesn't seem to affect my long-form content and it sometimes stops happening for months at a time only to randomly start happening again.
