Biography

Vixen is an iconic American all-female heavy metal and glam metal band formed in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in 1973 by founder and lead guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, later relocating to Los Angeles. During the late 1980s and early 1990s commercial peak of the Los Angeles hair metal scene, Vixen established themselves as pioneers, blending soaring melodic hooks, crunching guitar riffs, and arena-ready anthems. Dubbed the "female Bon Jovi" by critics, the classic lineup achieved major MTV and Billboard success before disbanding in 1992. The band has undergone subsequent reunions and modern revivals, continuing to tour internationally as a powerhouse of hard rock legacy.
