MEMI (born Kim Hyemi) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, guitarist, and digital media creator based in Seoul. Rising to prominent online fame through viral electric guitar performance videos and original music on social media, she has become a leading force in modern Korean underground rock and indie revival scenes. Before launching her solo project, she built extensive experience as a guitarist and vocalist in indie bands such as Seoulmoon and 24Hours. Known for her high-energy riffs, catchy hooks, and DIY ethos—handling production, visual art, and content creation independently—MEMI blends elements of 2000s pop-punk, garage rock, grunge, and heavy guitar subgenres.
