Biography
The Jazz Avengers is an all-female contemporary jazz-fusion supergroup formed in Japan. Originally brought together under the project name "Senri's Seven" by world-renowned virtuoso drummer Senri Kawaguchi for the closing ceremony of the 2021 One Young World summit in Munich, the ensemble brings together some of the most prominent bandleaders, session players, and solo artists in the modern Japanese jazz scene. Known for their high-energy musicianship, intricate arrangements, and a lush four-piece horn section, the group blends elements of heavy funk, jazz-fusion, and smooth melodic jazz.
