Biography
Covet is an American instrumental math-rock band formed in California in 2014, led by virtuoso guitarist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Yvette Young. Rooted in Young's background in classical piano and violin, the band is widely celebrated for its distinctive two-handed tapping technique, fluid fingerstyle approach, and blend of math-rock, post-progressive textures, and emotive melodies (often labeled by Young as "emotional nerd rock"). What began as a solo bedroom project evolved into a dynamic collaborative touring trio known for intricate compositions, vibrant visual art aesthetics, and prominent releases via Triple Crown Records.
