Biography & Band History
Formed in Tokyo in 2014, Risky Melody is a long-running, fiercely independent all-female Japanese heavy rock band. Built upon a tireless DIY touring ethos—often performing over 100 live dates annually across Japan's live house circuit—the group was founded around the commanding vocals and magnetic frontwoman presence of ALICE.
Known affectionately by fans as "Ris-Melo", the band spent a decade building an underground following through heavy festival circuits, national club tours, and self-produced releases. In February 2024, marking their 10th anniversary, Risky Melody achieved a major milestone by signing to Tokuma Japan Communications with the release of their major-debut single, "Sincerely_." Their sound is characterized by high-tempo driving riffs, soaring melodic twin-lead guitars, synth/keyboard hooks, and emotionally charged anthemic choruses.
