Biography & Band Formation

Formed in early 2026, Blue Medusa is an American-Canadian extreme heavy metal powerhouse founded by iconic frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz following her departure from Swedish melodic death metal titans Arch Enemy. Seeking to build an unapologetically heavy, technically forward-thinking band centered on female empowerment in heavy music, White-Gluz formally revealed the band's moniker on International Women's Day (March 8, 2026).

At the musical core of the project, White-Gluz recruited two rising virtuoso guitarists: modern shred phenomenon Alyssa Day and jazz-trained progressive metalist Dani Sophia. Expanding into a complete touring and studio unit with the addition of DragonForce bassist Alicia Vigil and technical drummer Delaney Jaster, Blue Medusa merges relentless blast beats, technical death metal precision, soaring melodic choruses, and intricate twin-guitar harmonies. The band made their surprise live debut in Berlin before taking on major festival stages including Louder Than Life and Aftershock.
