Biography & Band History

Hailing from the East Midlands, England, Desensitised is an all-female alternative rock and pop-punk outfit formed in the 2010s by lead vocalist and guitarist Charlotte Radford, bassist Claire Brookes, and drummer Rachel Heald. Cutting their teeth across the UK grassroots live circuit, the trio quickly built a reputation for high-octane stage performances, infectious power-chord-driven hooks, and punchy, anthemic songwriting.

Drawing inspiration from classic late-1990s and 2000s punk-rock, grunge, and modern British alt-rock, the band delivers a distinctive blend of driving distortion, razor-sharp rhythmic urgency, and soaring, harmonious vocal lines. Their dynamic presence has earned them festival appearances across the UK—including notable slots at festivals such as Camden Rocks, HRH, and MacMillan Fest—as well as widespread radio support from BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Radio, and independent alternative stations.
