All-Female Power Metal & Speed Metal Quintet from Tokyo

Biography & Band History

Formed in Tokyo in 2016 by bassist Miho and drummer Haruna, Lovebites quickly emerged as one of the premier forces in international heavy metal. Named in homage to Halestorm's "Love Bites (So Do I)", the group combines the blistering velocity and dual-harmony lead guitar tradition of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal with modern European power metal speed and Japanese melodic sensibilities.

Backed by the production engineering of Finnish metal mixing veterans Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila (Nightwish, Children of Bodom), Lovebites won the Best New Band award at the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. Following the departure of founding bassist Miho in 2021 and a brief hiatus, the band recruited prodigy bassist Fami in 2022, roaring back with critical and commercial triumphs across Europe, North America, and Japan.

Asami – Lead Vocals: A classically and gospel-trained powerhouse vocalist known for her soaring high range, operatic vibrato, and commanding frontwoman presence.
Midori – Guitars & Backing Vocals: A graduate of Musicians Institute Japan, celebrated for her aggressive alternate picking, high-velocity sweeps, and incendiary stage energy.
Miyako – Guitars, Keyboards & Backing Vocals: A multi-instrumentalist and classically trained pianist who serves as one of the band's primary composers, weaving intricate twin-lead melodies and neo-classical arrangements.
Fami – Bass & Backing Vocals (2022–present): A viral slap-and-fingerstyle bass virtuoso whose dynamic technical agility and heavy groove revitalized the lineup starting with Judgement Day.
Haruna – Drums: The driving rhythmic engine of the band, renowned for blistering double-bass endurance, precise blast beats, and thunderous fills.
Former Member: Miho – Bass & Band Leader (2016–2021): Co-founder who guided the band's classic metal identity through their initial breakthrough era.
