Biography

Céline Mazay is a Belgian metal guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist, best known as the driving force and primary riff composer for the brutal death metal outfit BleedSkin. Mazay co-founded the group in September 2016 alongside bassist Rémy Adam in Andenne, Belgium. Initially inspired by classic heavy metal and thrash titans like Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Megadeth, she quickly channeled her playing toward extreme metal.

Serving as the principal creative architect for BleedSkin's music, Mazay constructs tracks starting from guitar riffs before collaborating on rhythm arrangements. Over the band's progression into a tight-knit power trio alongside Adam and drummer Logan Dykens, she expanded her role to include co-lead growls and backing vocal duties while touring across the European metal festival and club circuits.

Slam & Groove Dynamics: Heavily influenced by acts like Dying Fetus, Blood Red Throne, and Sinister, her songwriting balances blistering blast-beat tempos with crushing, mid-tempo palm-muted breakdowns and syncopated bounce.
High-Speed Tremolo Picking: Rapid single-string and multi-string tremolo lines that outline dark, dissonant minor and diminished tonalities typical of traditional European and American death metal.
Percussive Right-Hand Attack: Tight, articulate right-hand picking mechanics tailored to handle low tunings with clarity, ensuring that complex rhythmic chugs remain defined without turning to mud.
Gear & Amplification: Longtime user of custom valve amplification from Belgian boutique maker Invaders Amplification, paired with high-output humbucker-equipped guitars to achieve a raw, punchy, midrange-forward extreme metal tone.
