Mayteé Herrera

Mexican Metal Guitarist, Melodic Soloist & Death-Thrash Riff Architect

Biography & Career Overview

Hailing from Mexico, Mayteé Herrera is an electric guitarist and composer who has emerged as a prominent figure within the modern Latin American heavy metal underground. Immersed in heavy music from an early age, Herrera developed a playing style firmly grounded in the technical intensity of classic thrash metal, melodic death metal, and modern extreme music.

She gained widespread recognition in the extreme metal circuit through her role as guitarist in Mexican death/thrash outfits, most notably taking over guitar duties in the aggressive thrash/death metal band Introtyl (replacing previous guitarists and appearing on their major touring and festival cycles) as well as collaborating across projects like The Outsider and various international tributes. Her combination of razor-sharp rhythm gallops, commanding stage presence, and fluent lead guitar work has made her a sought-after live performer and clinic demonstrator across Latin America.
