Biography

HAGANE (styled in all caps) is an all-female Japanese heavy and melodic speed metal band formed in Tokyo in June 2018 by guitarist Sakura. Named after the Japanese word for "steel," the group chose the moniker to represent strength forged through continuous challenges. Following major lineup changes in 2023, Sakura and bassist Sayaka rebuilt the band with vocalist Nagi and drummer JUNNA. This dynamic four-piece lineup shifted toward a faster, more aggressive melodic speed metal style, achieving critical acclaim and expanding their footprint internationally with festival appearances and headlining shows across Europe.
