Biography

HAGANE is a Japanese all-female melodic speed and power metal band formed in Tokyo in June 2018 by guitarist Sakura. The band's name—the Japanese word for “steel”—was chosen to represent strength forged through repeated challenges. Known for combining striking visual aesthetics with blistering twin-guitar harmonies, technical precision, and soaring vocals, HAGANE quickly established themselves as a prominent force in the modern Japanese heavy metal scene. Following a major lineup transition in 2023, founder Sakura and bassist Sayaka rebuilt the group with vocalist Nagi and drummer Junna, launching an aggressive new chapter that includes international festival appearances across Europe.
