Tony MacAlpine
The name Tony MacAlpine is synonymous with modern musical virtuosity. Whether performing as a solo artist, band member, session player, touring hired-gun, or as a producer, Tony MacAlpine continues to prove that he truly is one of rock’s most amazing and versatile guitarists. He has produced, written and arranged eleven solo instrumental studio albums, and also released four albums with his jazz-fusion band CAB, three albums with mind-bending progressive rock band Planet X.
With a music career that now spans over 27 years, Tony will be performing a cross section of his catalog on Friday March 14 at Alva’s Showroom, including a full live performance of his debut album, Edge Of Insanity opening the set. Guitar World magazine recently cited Edge Of Insanity as #4 in the Top 10 Shred Guitar Albums of all time. Tony will also be previewing a handful of tracks from his forthcoming studio release Concrete Gardens.
His touring band includes Swedish-born bass player, BJORN ENGLEN, also known for playing with Dio Disciples, Soul Sign along with guitar luminaries for Yngwie Malmsteen and Uli Jon Roth.
NILI BROSH is the band’s other guitarist. Originally from Israel and now living in the USA, 25-year old Nili is turning heads with her incredible guitar playing. Nili played guitar for some time with The Iron Maidens (the world's only all-female tribute to Iron Maiden) and has also performed with Stu Hamm, Guthrie Govan, The Aristocrats and Andy Timmons.
One of the most dynamic and skilled drummers on the pro scene today, Australian native SAM ALIANO is a triple threat - making a name for himself in the recording, touring and teaching worlds. Sam’s live and recording credits include Jazz-Improv rockers Gongzilla, MR. BIG’s Billy Sheehan, Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt and legendary ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash.
