Alicia Marie: Old Soul - new album available

Alicia Marie

Hi everyone! I want to make a big announcement! It feels a little surreal to be saying this, but I have finally released my debut album, Old Soul! I know it has been a long-time coming (especially for those who have been asking, haha), but I've finally taken the plunge and released an album that I have worked very hard on and I am very proud of. :)

This album arises out of my love for old-school music, especially blues, jazz, and swing. I had a few goals in mind when I was making it: paying my respects to the artists of the past, recording some of my originals, and producing a CD with natural, minimally processed sound. I always dreamed of having an album that is a throwback, so I worked to recreate a live, organic sound reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s recordings that I enjoy listening to.

Of course, this release would not be possible without the support of my family, friends, and fans. You guys have stuck by me for so many years. I cannot thank you enough for your kind words, your encouragement, and for believing in me! In addition, this release wouldn't be possible without the fine musicians who joined me! A huge thanks to Ron Pangborn, Kurt Krahnke, Kenny Parker, Dan Devins, and Goode Wyche! It was an honor to make all these cool jams with you guys! Also, special thanks to Jacob Shives, the sound engineer, and Kevin Nix, the mastering engineer, for doing excellent work! And an extra special thanks to RJ Spangler for not only his help and mentorship and for joining me on this recording, but also his love for old school music and musicians, live and in print. He is keeping it going and his dedication is admirable! Much respect!
