May 2020 – Instagram sensation Rebecca Mardal is a guitarist hailing from Sweden. Equipped with her guitar, she is passionate about creating mesmerizing melodies and beautiful sonic textures, inspired by the best jazz and soul music out there, with a modern flair and a lo-fi touch.
Having graduated at Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Rebecca's managed to develop an intriguing original sound. It is not surprising to see that she has been gaining tens of thousands of followers on social media, especially on Instagram, where she uploads videos of her guitar playing. Her debut studio release, “I’m Not Lost, I am Free” features soothing guitar sounds, experimental textures and tasteful effects, such as reverse swells, delays, and percussive loops, as well as a minimalistic percussion backdrop. Fans of modern Jazz, Lo-Fi Hip Hop, and Soul music are definitely going to connect with Rebecca’s guitar work and utterly personable compositional style and guitar skills.
