Named after the bird of prey, with the double XX symbolising the double XX female chromosome. HAWXX write songs that reflect self empowerment, the lies of the diet industry, mental health and being a sexy bastard.
In January 2020 they became recepients of the Women Make Music PRS Grant which has enabled them to record their debut EP with renowned producer Larry Hibbitt (Dinosaur Pile-up, Hundred Reasons, Marmozets).
HAWXX are Anna, Hannah, Jessica and Iman and have released 4 singles and their debut EP ‘Deadlands’ , all receiving a consistent positive response from press and radio, including winning track of the week on Classic Rock Magazine, features in Metal Hammer, Powerplay Magazine, and Rock Sound Magazine, airplay from Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, The Metal Hammer Show, Primordial Radio A-list and Planet Rock Radio. September 2020 saw them give an exclusive performance at the Heavy Music Awards sponsored by Amazon Music. HAWXX are also endorsed by Victory Amplification.
